Ralph M. Vanosdol, 78, of Versailles passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. He was born near Cross Plains on February 24, 1933 the son of Paul and Florence Hayes Vanosdol. He was married to Violet Clarkson on November 9, 1957 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Ronald (Jane) Vanosdol of Terre Haute and Keith Vanosdol of Versailles; one grandson Noah Alexander Vanosdol. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Vanosdol had worked for 28 years as a digger operator for the Southeastern Indiana REMC in Osgood. He had also been employed with Uhlman's Feed Mill in Cross Plains and Cord's Stone Quarry at Versailles. Ralph was a member of the Shelby Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23 at 11am at the Shelby Christian Church with Bro. Earl Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Shelby Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
