Randall "Randy" Lee Jones passed away on August 6, 2024 at the age of 83, at his home in Dabney, Indiana. He was born at home in Cusco, Indiana on November 18, 1940, the 9th child of Elvis and Erma Jones. He was married to Darla Brower on December 22, 1962 at Dabney Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Darla and his four children: daughter Shelli (William) Reckert of Greenwood, Indiana; daughter Shanda (John) Morris of Winchester, Kentucky; son Shawn Jones of Holton, Indiana; daughter Sarah (Keith) Cushing of Morgantown, Indiana. Other survivors include his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. They are Ashley (Levi) Parker of New Marion, Indiana and their 3 children; Quentin and Claire Reckert of Greenwood, Indiana; Katie Reckert Logan (Aaron) of Sarasota, Florida and their 2 children; Timothy "Randy" Morris of Huntsville, Alabama; Daniel and William Morris of Winchester, Kentucky; Samatha, Zoe, and Riley Cushing of Morgantown, Indiana. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Randy was a 1958 graduate of Greensburg High School. He was a Union Diesel Worker for Cummins for 33+ years, a member of Pine Hills Golf Course, and a member of the Dabney Baptist Church where he and Darla served as BYF Leaders for several years. He was an avid golfer, having begun his love of golf as a child on the Donald Ross Course where he caddied for many prestigious golfers. He traveled across Indiana competing in horseshoe tournaments, enjoyed farming, and was a loving husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stratton Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 12 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holton Fire Department or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
