Ray L. Holt, 77, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born in Cincinnati on October 3, 1928 the son of Roy and Flonnie Godby Holt. He was married to Katherine Kemker on October 10, 1992 and she survives. Other survivors include his mother Flonnie Holt of Milan; four sons, Daniel Holt and his wife Deborah of Westport, David Holt of Batesville, Stephen and Penny of Morris, and Randy and Renee Holt of Osgood; three daughters, Carolyn Reese of Rushville, Teresa Isaacs and her husband Daniel of Versailles, and Melody Bridgeford and her husband Craig of Batesville; step-children, Bonnie McCabe and her husband Dave of Moores Hill, Connie Rohrig of Milan, and Bud Ward of Versailles; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Holt of Elizabethtown, and Russell Holt of Milan; four sisters, Gladys Walden of Cincinnati, Ruby McDonald of Milan, Pauline Kurtz of Marblehead, Massachusetts, and Eva Cook of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his father, his son Tim, and his step-son Chris Ward.
Mr. Holt was a self-employed contractor. He also had worked as a mechanic for the Indiana State Highway Department and had driven a school bus for the Batesville school system for 17 years. He was a graduate of Louisville Bible College and was a member of the Community Nazarene Church in Greensburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21 at 11am at the Community Nazarene Church in Greensburg with Pastor Perry Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the funeral home.
