**Rea Carroll**, 92, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born in the Tanglewood Community near Versailles on July 9, 1920, the son of Orval and Audra Rea Carroll. He was married to Henrietta Moeller on October 25, 1947 and his wife of 65 years survives. Other survivors include two sons Dr. Michael (Marsha) Carroll of Dayton, Ohio, and Dennis (Debbie) Carroll of Osgood; one daughter Marilyn Carroll of Naples, Florida; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his great-grandson Chase Carroll, and his sisters Margaret Henneke, Mabel Barth, and Jean Chalk. Mr. Carroll was a 1937 graduate of Osgood High School. He spent his entire life farming and he and Henrietta were well known throughout the state for their herd of Angus show cattle. Rea was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood, the American Angus Association, and was a former member of the Farm Bureau. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 4:30pm. Memorials may be given to St. John's Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
