Richard Dale Hyatt, 71, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2003 near his home. He was born in Indianapolis on September 26, 1932 the son of Morton and Goldie Clarkson Hyatt. He was married to Barbara Noland on October 18, 1952 and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Karen Cutter and her husband Gary of Colfax, Illinois; two step-daughters, Patty Clark and her husband Pat of Ft. Myers, Florida and Barbara Brandum and her husband Bill of Hanover; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Marcia Elmore of Marysville, Ohio, Esther Lowe of New Palestine, and Doris Shingleton of Ft. Myers, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Alen and Raymond Hyatt.
Mr. Hyatt was retired from Rexnord in Madison where he worked as a plant supervisor. He was an Army veteran and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church at Madison.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 11 at 2pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Joel Almaroad of the Grace Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12pm until time of services. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Grace Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
