Richard W. Kocher

Richard W. Kocher, 87, of Indianapolis passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at University Heights Health and Living Community in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born at Indianapolis on September 20, 1929 the son of Richard and Elizabeth Wright Kocher. He married Irene Watts on April, 1960 and she preceded him in death on August 2013. Survivors include one brother James Kocher of Indianapolis, and one sister Bessie Allison of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Kocher was an Air Force Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict, and also a retired Fireman of The Marion County Fire Department of 29 years. Richard was a beloved car enthusiast, Dick and Irene loved to get in the car and travel all over the country. They loved to visit all the little towns of America. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 11:00am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with his brother James Kocher officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9am until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery or the Versailles American Legion in care of the funeral home.
