Richard Rutledge, 62, of Versailles
passed away
Thursday,
August 5, 2010 at his home. He was born in Moberly, Missouri on
November 16,
1947 the son of Ralph and Helen Nichols Rutledge. He was married to
Roxanna
Hacker on July 14, 1972 and she survives. Other survivors include two
sons
Matthew (Erin) Rutledge of Canaan and Harold (Rebecca) Rutledge of
Frankfort,
Ohio; six grandchildren; one sister Judy Storm of Jasper, Georgia; two
brothers
John (Linda) Rutledge of Moberly, Missouri and Cecil (Pat) Rutledge of
Ocala,
Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Rutledge was a
1965
graduate of Moberly High School and attended the Central Christian
College in
Moberly. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and received the
National
Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign
Medal, and
the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was employed with the US
Postal
Service for 32 years, was also an evangelist with the Church of Christ,
and was
a member of the Versailles Church of Christ. Funeral services will be
held
Monday, August 9
at 12pm at the Versailles Church of
Christ with
his sons Evangelist Harold Rutledge and Matthew Rutledge, and Bro. Dale
Day
officiating. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Cemetery at
Madison.
Visitation will be Monday from 10am until time of services at the
church.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Versailles
Church
of Christ in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
