Rita Young, 79, of Napoleon
passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Methodist
Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born near Milhousen on June 26, 1928 the
daughter of Lawrence and Catherine Menkedick Duerstock. She was married to
Alfred Young on June 15, 1949 and he survives. Other survivors include two sons,
Larry (Pam) Young and Dale Young both of Napoleon; two daughters, Janice (Kenny)
Fry and Nancy (Bob) Obermeyer both of Napoleon; 8 grandchildren and 7
great-grandchildren; five brothers, Vincent (Ann) Duerstock of Shelbyville, Urban
Duerstock of Greensburg, Cyril Duerstock of Napoleon, Marvin (Sabra) Duerstock
of Guilford, and Kenny (Caroline) Duerstock of Batesville; one sister Helen
Tebbe of Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
grandson Brian Obermeyer, daughter-in-law Debbie Young, her brother Norbert
Duerstock, and her sister Margaret Bedel. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a
member of St. Maurice Catholic Church where she participated in the NCCW of
Napoleon. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 17
at 10am at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon with Father Rob Hankee
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday
from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Rosary
services will be conducted at 8pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be
given to the St. Maurice Building Fund.
