**Robert J. Booster**, 86, of Versailles passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Cornerstone Hospice Center in Tavares, Florida. He was born in Johnson Township near Versailles on October 6, 1925 the son of Clifford and Laura Ehlers Booster.
He was married to Esther Hunteman on August 10, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Donald (Belinda) Booster of Noblesville and Rev. Mark (Ruth) Booster of Republic, Ohio; three daughters Marilyn (Wayne) Percifield of Mt. Dora, Florida, Carol (Sam) Lapin of Burlington, Kentucky, and Ann (John) Tuhela of Longwood, Florida; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Louis Booster and James Booster who also died December 14, 2011.
Mr. Booster was a Navy veteran of WWII where he served in Hawaii as a Radioman Second Class. He received the WWII Victory Ribbon, American Area Ribbon, and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon. He attended Texas A & M and also studied electronics at Northwestern University near Chicago. Bob was a farmer and a self-employed truck driver. He was also the former owner of the Sinclair Station in Versailles and Booster's TV in Versailles and Osgood. Mr. Booster was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Olean.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Mark Booster officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Olean with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or St. Peter's Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
