Robert W. Burkett

**Robert W. Burkett**, 55, of Versailles passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born at Batesville on October 2, 1954 the son of Omer and Peggy Sharp Burkett. Survivors include three sons David Burkett and his fiancé Courtney Marley of Vincennes, Isaac Burkett of Versailles, and Israel Burkett and his fiancé Jessica Gress of Osgood; one grandson Alexander Burkett; one sister Patricia (Randy) Ent of Seymour; sister-in-law Shirley (Max) Mingee of Bloomington and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Captain William Burkett, and his sister Sherilyn Sue Bessler. Mr. Burkett was a 1973 graduate of Milan High School and was a former employee of Tru-Temper of North Vernon. He was a member of the Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 15 at 10:30am at the Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at Aurora. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 9:30am Wednesday until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to the donors choice in care of the funeral home.
