Roberta J. Ashcraft

Roberta J. Ashcraft, 90, of Milan passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born at Versailles on September 15, 1922 the daughter of Arnold and Laura Elrod Stutler. She was married to Donald Ashcraft on November 23, 1940 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1993. Survivors include one son Randy (Tina) Ashcraft of Milan; one daughter Sharon (Cletus) Stephens of Westport; 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers Ron (Janet) Stutler of Versailles and Gary (Judy) Stutler of Friendship; one sister Margie (Bud) Stevens of Moores Hill. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Donald Ashcraft, Jr., her brothers Merle, Wallace, Ernie, and Daryl Stutler, and her great-grandson Caydan Morling. Mrs. Ashcraft worked as a cook for the Milan schools, Milan Health Care Center, and also at Dillsboro Manor. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 18 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will be in the New Craven Cemetery at Milan. Visitation will be Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. Memorials may be given to the Milan Fire Department or Rescue 30 in care of the funeral home.
