Roberta Fugate

Roberta Fugate, 67, of Holton passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at her home. She was born at DeKalb, Illinois on February 9, 1941 the daughter of Robert and Marjorie Mae Elliott Meredith. She was married to Kenneth Paul Long in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1980. She was married to William Edward Fugate on March 26, 1996 and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter SuElla (Randy) Jordan of Cincinnati; her mother Mrs. Marjorie Meredith of Hanover; step-daughter Carol Fugate of Osgood; step-granddaughter Abby Jordan of Cincinnati. She was also preceded in death by her father and her sister June Kelly. Mrs. Fugate was a 1958 graduate of Southwestern High School at Hanover and had attended the Spenserian Business College in Louisville. She worked for 15 years as a secretary in the engineering division of the Jefferson Proving Ground. Visitation will be Friday, October 31 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. There will be no services. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
