Rose E. Barenscheer

Rose E. Barenscheer, 92, of Elrod passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born at Addyston, Ohio on June 19, 1915 the daughter of Charles and Anna Eckstein Meeks. She was married to Rev. Lee Barenscheer on November 5, 1933 and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1990. Survivors include one son Andy (Linda) Barenscheer of Milan; one daughter Peggy (Charles) Burford of Dillsboro; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Mrs. Barenscheer was a homemaker and a member of the Washington Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12 at 11am at the Washington Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Fitzsimmons and Tim Barenscheer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Gideons, Washington Baptist Church, or the Washington Cemetery.
