**Rosella Holzer**, 91, of Versailles passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 at her home. She was born in Indianapolis on January 29, 1919 the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Glaub Meister. She was married to Cletus Holzer on May 25, 1940 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2008. Survivors include three sons J. Cletus (Kathi) Holzer of Trion, Georgia, John (Carol) Holzer of Versailles, and Mark (Janet) Holzer of Kernersville, North Carolina; four daughters Marie (Don) Strobel of Franklin, R. Joan (Leon) Sarringhaus of Hollister, California, Patricia Durlacher of Jacksonville, Florida, and Aletha (Owen, Jr.) Heaton of Cross Plains; 27 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren; one brother Paul (Glenda) Meister of Osgood; one sister Betty Rouse of Batesville. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lenora Kool, and her brothers Robert, Bill, John, Frank, and Joe Meister. Mrs. Holzer was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood for over 60 years where she participated in the PCCW. She was also a member of the Ripley County Red Hatters and the Do-A-Lot Home Ec Club in Versailles. She along with her husband owned and operated the Court House Inn in Versailles and also worked in the John Holzer and Son Grocery in Versailles. Mrs. Holzer retired from the sewing room at Muscatatuck and during the Great Depression she had worked as a nanny for a family in Indianapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 17 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Frank Eckstein and Father Shaun Whittington officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles. Visitation will be Sunday from 3pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 7pm. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
