Roy Dobbs

Roy Dobbs, 60, of New Marion passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born at Batesville on March 12, 1954 the son of Leonard and Margaret Miller Dobbs. He was married to Kathy Brinson on November 17, 1973 and she survives. Other survivors include one son Lafe Dobbs of New Marion; one daughter Dee Dobbs Livingston of Dillsboro; two grandchildren Braesyn and Brinley Livingston; one brother Joe Dobbs of Batesville; one sister Mary (Donald) Nealis of Canaan; sister-in-law Rita Dobbs of Pulaski, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Dobbs. Mr. Dobbs was a 1972 graduate of South Ripley High School. He was a former employee of Ohio Rod in Versailles and for fourteen years drove a school bus for the Holton and South Ripley Schools. Roy was also the owner and operator of Dobbs Farms and was a former member of the New Marion Fire Department. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 3pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Steve Culp of the New Marion Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1pm until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Cemetery or the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
