Rubie M. Boyd

Rubie M. Boyd, 87, of Versailles, formerly of Elrod passed away Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. She was born near Elrod on March 3, 1920 the daughter of Samuel and Hattie Calendar Boyd. She is survived by one sister, Rozetta Bradley of Rising Sun; sister-in-law Evelyn Boyd of Milan; nieces Mary Shockey of Versailles, Leona Middleton of Lawrenceburg, Marie Gilmore of Rising Sun, and Fern Day of Connersville. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Orvin, Raymond, Thurman, and Wesley Boyd, and her sister Edith Henschen. Miss Boyd was a homemaker and a member of the Washington Baptist Church at Elrod. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 22 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Bruce Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery at Dillsboro. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm to 7pm. Memorials may be given to the Oakdale Cemetery or the Washington Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
