Ruby M. Firth, 82, of Versailles passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 at her home. She was born at Milan on December 12, 1928 the daughter of Floyd and Stella Simpson Fletcher. She was married to Robert "Bine" Firth on May 22, 1950 and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters Terri (Al) Turchan of Bridgeville, Delaware and Mindy (Steve) Lauber of Dillsboro; four grandsons Nate Kingery of Dansville, New York, Nick (Tamra) Kingery of Oklahoma City, and Alec and Drew Lauber of Dillsboro; one step-granddaughter Rochelle Turchan; two great-grandchildren Emania and Zachary Kingery; two sisters Jean Kennedy of Versailles and Shirley (Wayne) Turner of Milan; one brother Ron Fletcher of Versailles. Mrs. Firth was a 1946 graduate of Milan High School and was a homemaker. She retired after 31 years of employment with the Social Security Administration in Madison. Funeral services will be held Monday, December at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. David Shivers of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles. Visitation will be Sunday from 5pm to 7pm. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
