Russell E. Wall, 78, of Rexville
passed away Friday, October 15, 2004 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison.
He was born at McKinney in Lincoln County, Kentucky on September 8, 1926 the son
of Noel and Viola Peck Wall. He was married to Mable Martin on November 9, 1951
and she survives. Other survivors include one son, David Wall and his wife
Bonnie of Milan; two daughters, Robin Wall of Versailles and Christy Speer and
her husband Rev. Casey Speer of Columbus; eight grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter; two brothers, Albert Wall of Frankfort, Kentucky and
Charles Wall of Hayden; two sisters, Carrie Sheene of Hustonville, Kentucky and
Joyce Austin of Palm Springs, California. He was preceded in death by his
parents and his brothers Ollie, Bobby, Jerry, and Marvin Wall. Mr. Wall was a
Navy veteran of WWII and was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church. He
retired in 1984 after 44 years as an engineer with the Southern Railway and was also a commercial mink rancher.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 18 at 11am at the
Tanglewood Cemetery near Versailles with Rev.Casey Speer officiating. Visitation
will be Sunday, October 17 from 3pm to 5pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to Child
Evangelism or Crown Financial Ministries in care of the funeral home.
