Ruth M. Narwold, 83, of Napoleon passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born near Versailles on January 25, 1928 the daughter of Conrad and Emma Schenbeck Luers. She was married to Edgar Narwold on November 28, 1953 and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2003. Survivors include one son David (Pam) Narwold of Napoleon; grandsons Steve (Stephanie) Narwold of Osgood and Curt (Megan) Narwold of Ankeny, Iowa; great-grandchildren Lanie and Zach Narwold; three brothers Wilbur Luers of Versailles, Ray Luers of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Gilbert Luers of Henderson, Nevada; her cousin Norma Roberts of Batesville. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Betty Toops, her parents, and her brothers Robert and Clifford Luers. Mrs. Narwold was a 1946 graduate of Napoleon High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Ruth was a homemaker and a charter member of the Napoleon Fire Department Auxiliary and also was a Jackson Township delegate for the Ripley County Farm Bureau. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20 at 10am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Pastor Gary Groth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home and from 9am until time of services Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, the Jac-Cen-Del Athletic Department, or the Hospice of South Central Indiana in care of the funeral home.
