Stephen M. Mathews

**Stephen M. Mathews**, 58, of Cross Plains passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his home. He was born in Cincinnati on December 2, 1956 the son of Donald and Jacqueline Henry Mathews. He was married to Rebecca Slayback on October 5, 2006 and she survives. Other survivors include his father Donald Mathews of Medina, Ohio; two daughters Katie Mathews of Amelia, Ohio and Lesa Mathews of Westchester, Ohio; two step-sons Johnny (Brittany) Wurtzler and Joey Wurtzler both of Harrison, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; three brothers Kenneth (Cheryl) Mathews of Cross Plains; Douglas (Carol) Mathews of Medina, Ohio, and Timothy Mathews of Columbus, Ohio; one sister Sandra (Danny) Clatterbuck of Madison, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his brother David Mathews. Mr. Mathews was a former driver for M & M Trucking in Madison and was a member of the NMLRA. A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Friday, December 12 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Indiana Veteran Cemetery at Madison. Visitation will be Friday from 11am until time of services.
