Thelma Jackson, 104, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born in Cincinnati on January 30, 1903 the daughter of James and Jennie Doran. She was married to Wilkie Jackson and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1983. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hayes of Germantown, Ohio; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, and her son-in-law Hollie.
Mrs. Jackson was an 84 year member of the Versailles Baptist Church where she participated in the choir well into her 90's. In her younger days she participated in an accordion group with a group of ladies. She was a homemaker and a member of the Versailles Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 14 at 2pm at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12pm until time of services.
Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery or the Manderley Health Care Center in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
