Verland S. King

Verland S. King, 84, of Versailles, formerly of Osgood, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at his residence. He was born at Osgood on September 28, 1920 the son of Edgar Steadman and Pearl Pruiett King. He was married to Ilene Meadows on October 21, 1948 and she survives. Other survivors include his sister-in-law Mrs. Evelyn King of Osgood. Mr. King was a 1940 graduate of Osgood High School and along with his brothers owned and operated King's Machine Shop in Osgood. He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Osgood. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Greendale Cemetery in Osgood. The Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles is in charge of arrangements.
