Vicki Chandler, 49, of Cross Plains passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. She was born at Louisville on June 11, 1959 the daughter of Thomas and Anna Hazelwood Reed. She was married to Jeff Chandler on May 17, 1985 and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, Tim (Erin) Chandler of Campbellsburg, Charlie (Chasity) Chandler of Hanover, and Dylan Chandler of Cross Plains; grandchildren Jasmine, Austin, and Cooper; her step-mother Linda Reed of Litchfield, Kentucky; brothers Dale Reed, Tommy (Lisa) Reed, and Jason (Marci) Reed all of Litchfield; sisters Dee Dee Smith of Missouri and Stephanie (Roy) Hack of Litchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Michael Wayne Hockenberry, her granddaughter Emma, and her brother Wally Reed.
Mrs. Chandler was a member of the Cross Plains Church of Christ and was a former employee of Mike and Ted's Video in Versailles. She loved to read, raise flowers, and enjoyed her family vacations to the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach and Florida. She also enjoyed raising sheep on the farm she loved with her husband.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13 at 11am at the Cross Plains Church of Christ with Bro. Logan Fugate and Evangelist Barry Kermeen officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Cross Plains. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 9pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Salem Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
