**Victor Pickett**, 85, of Correc passed away Saturday, August 6, 2005 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born at Correct on April 10, 1920 the son of Edward and Esty Hyatt Pickett and had spent his entire life on his home place. He was married to Ruth Graves on June 23, 1945 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Richard Pickett and his wife Tammy of Olean, David Pickett and his wife Ellen of Pendleton; one daughter Susan Craig and her husband Joe of Madison; grandchildren Jeffery, William, Samuel, and Joseph Pickett, Jennifer Smith, Patrick and Benjamin Craig. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joel Pickett and his sisters Lucy Pickett and Evelyn Lewis. Mr. Pickett was a retired farmer and was employed with Cummins from 1966 to 1986 where he worked as a machinist. He also had owned and operated a milk truck which he contracted milk hauling for Nestles in Osgood. He was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Bro. Earl Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Tuesday, August from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Parsonage fund of the New Marion Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
