Vincent Horton, 77, of Versailles
passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Ross Manor in Dillsboro. He was born
near Versailles on December 22, 1932 the son of Clifford and Garnet Alley
Horton. Survivors include two sons Milton (Lucy) Horton of Nashville, Tennessee
and Bret (Kletis) Horton of New Castle; five daughters Inga (Scott) Guenther of
Texas, Greta (Bill) Goble of Versailles, Barbara (Preston) Barlow of Kentucky,
Tanya (Theron) Smith of Sumter, South Carolina, and Beth (Steven) Williams of
Nashville, Tennessee; several grandchildren; one sister Wilma Lou Clark of
Clarksville; one brother Ray (Kay) Horton of Florida. He was preceded in death
by his parents and his sister Phyliss Hafft. Mr. Horton was a 1951 graduate of
Versailles High School. He was a former terminal manager for Silgas. He was a
member of the Cedar Creek Community Church, the Versailles American Legion, and
the Ripley County Voiture 40 & 8. Mr. Horton was a veteran of the US Army.
Services will be held on Friday, January 15
at 1pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home with Theron Smith officiating. Visitation will
be Friday from 11am until time of services. The Versailles American Legion will
conduct military services Friday at the funeral home.
