**Violet R. Baker**, 92, of Osgood passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born in Cincinnati on September 21, 1922 the daughter of Irvin and Margaret Schmelling Keller. She was married to James Richard Baker on September 9, 1944 and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1986. Survivors include one daughter Barbara (Robert) Brown of Canaan; three granddaughters Laura (Darren) Cole of Batesville, Belinda (Robert) Cole of Versailles, and Rebecca (Richard) Scott of Batesville, and also 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baker was a 1940 graduate of Western Hills High School in Cincinnati. She worked in customer service for Sears at the Florence Mall, retiring in 1985. In 1996 she moved to Buckeye Village in Osgood where she enjoyed her retirement and in particular the Meal Site activities. In 2011 she became a resident of the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. Violet was a long time member of the Versailles Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 10am at the Versailles Church of Christ with Dale Day officiating. Entombment will take place at 2:30 pm Wednesday at the Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 9am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Versailles Church of Christ or the Activities Fund of the Manderley Health Care Center in care of the funeral home.
