Virginia (Jenny) Hopkins

Virginia (Jenny) Hopkins, 85, of Holton passed away Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born at Vergie in Knott County, Kentucky on October 31, 1918 the daughter of Harrison and Mary Hall. She was married to Robert Hopkins on October 2, 1938 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2001. Mrs. Hopkins was a homemaker and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Jones and her husband Wayne of Louisville; three sons, Robert Hopkins, Jr. and his wife Hannah of North Palm Beach, Florida, Larry Hopkins and Patricia of Indianapolis, and Johnny Hopkins and Bonita of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister Mrs. Agnes Huntington and her husband Robert of Holton. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Phyllis Ann Hopkins, her grandson Michael Jones, and her brothers Eugene, Delano, and Ollie Hall. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23 at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Wm. Mittendorf and Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, February 22 from 4pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the church or the cemetery.
