Virginia J. Kelso

Virginia J. Kelso, 94, of Osgood passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the home of her son in Crossville, Tennessee. She was born at Shelbyville on September 7, 1917 the daughter of Herschel and Sina Spurlin Jackson. She was married to Wayne Kelso on July 26, 1937 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1998. Survivors include one son Jack (JoAnn) Kelso of Crossville, Tennessee; two daughters Sandra (Bill) Gloyd of Osgood and Sara Hatton of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janet Heidorn and her son-in-law Steve Hatton. Mrs. Kelso was a 1934 graduate of Shelbyville High School and was a homemaker. Virginia was a long-time member of the Osgood United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Ginny Hizer of the Osgood United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Star Cemetery at St. Omer. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Osgood United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
