Virginia Wilson Powers

Virginia Wilson Powers, 88, of Versailles, formerly of Madison passed away Tuesday evening, April 15 at the Dillsboro Manor. She was born at Bennington on June 27, 1914 the daughter of Frank and Jane Cole Bear. She was married to Harold Wilson on September 6, 1930 and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1951. She is survived by four sons; Harold Lloyd Wilson and his wife Judy of Dillsboro, Harvey Wilson and his wife Liza, Frank Wilson and his wife Lana, all of Commiskey, and Paul Wayne Wilson and his wife Brenda of Cross Plains; two daughters, Esther Smith and her husband Robert of Versailles and Patty Johnson of Lexington, Indiana; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her granddaughter Melinda Thompson, her great-granddaughter Jennifer Smith, five brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be Friday, April 18 from 6pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 19 at 10:30am at the funeral home with Rev. Becky Pohle of the Tanglewood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Cross Plains. Memorials may be given to the cemetery.
