Vivian Irene Jackson

Vivian Irene Jackson, 82, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. Vivian was born on April 9, 1923 in Marion, Illinois the daughter of Augusta Lee and Helen Hartline Rendleman. She was married to Robert Guthrie of Kansas City in 1942 and on April 20, 1946 she was married to Willard Jackson and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Marcia McKenney and her husband Randy of Shelbyville; two sons, Robert Guthrie and his wife Peggy of Arlington, Tennessee and Danny Jackson of Versailles; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her baby brother Bobby, her first husband and her daughter Pamela Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church where she served in various capacities for over 50 years with many of those years as the adult class Sunday School teacher. Vivian and children always had a special connection. Mrs. Jackson was employed at and retired from the Muscatatuck State Hospital where her rewarding responsibilities included one of resident care taker and trainer/instructor. Visitation will be held Friday, April 29 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April at 11am at the Tanglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Becky Pohle officiating. Burial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Vivian Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
