Vivian E. Matz, 93, of Napoleon
passed away Saturday,
February 5, 2011 at the Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. She
was born near Napoleon on September 2, 1917 the daughter of Louis
and Ella Harlemert Bultman. She was married to William Matz on January
, 1940 and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1987. Survivors include one daughter Cathy (Terry) Caplinger of Indianapolis; one grandson Michael Caplinger and his fiancé Jenny McQueen of Greenwood; one brother Clyde (Angie) Bultman of Joshua Tree, California.
Mrs. Matz was a lifelong resident of the Napoleon community and was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Fink's Corner where she participated in the Ladies Aid Society. Vivian assisted her husband on the farm and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9 at 11am at St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Fink's Corner with Rev. Karyl Leslie officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the church building fund or the cemetery in care of the funeral home.
