Vivian Vanosdol, 77, of Benham passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born near Hick's Ridge in southern Ripley County on November 30, 1929 the daughter of Roy and Mildred Jarvis Darringer. She was married to Raymond Vanosdol on March 26, 1949 and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1995. Survivors include two sons, Leroy Vanosdol and his wife Mary and Leland Vanosdol and his wife Jeannette all of Benham; one daughter Donna Wagner and her husband Kenneth of Osgood; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother Donald Darringer of Plainfield. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harvey, her sister Rosemary, and her great-grandson Keith Weise. Mrs. Vanosdol was a 1947 graduate of Cross Plains High School and was a member of the Shelby Christian Church. She was a homemaker and had been employed with Berkel Scales in Versailles and also with the Versailles Senior Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31 at 1pm at the Shelby Christian Church with minister Randy Thieman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 12pm until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
