Walter E. Grills

Walter E. Grills, 68, of Benham passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born in Cincinnati on October 24, 1943 the son of James and America Dezarn Grills. He was married to Genevieve Poling and she survives. Other survivors include one son Ricky (Amy) Grills of Benham; one daughter Kimberly (Eric) Benz of Sunman; one grandson Ryan Benz; two sisters Glenna (Bernie) Ward and Shirley (Dennis) Culp both of Osgood. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers James Grills and Glenn Grills. Mr. Grills worked as a meat cutter and store manager for the Regal Grocery in Osgood and also for Purdum's Grocery in Versailles. He retired from Reliance Electric. Walter attended the Concord Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 12 at 10:30am at the Concord Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jerry Vandervort officiating. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Concord Wesleyan Church in care of the funeral home.
