Walter F. Renfro, 89, of Holton passed away Friday, May 13, 2005 at King's Daughter's Hospital in Madison. He was born at Holton on August 5, 1915 the son of Fred and Rosa Buchanan Renfro. He was married to Mayme Sizemore on December 9, 1939 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons; Walter Jr. and his wife Linda of Holton and Fred and his wife Patty of Rexville; Three daughters; Myrtle Moberly and her husband Earl of Holton, Donna Hamilton and her husband David of Rexville, and Joyce Scott and her husband Keith of New Marion; Eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Zelpha Naylor of Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Bertha and Laura Renfro and his brother Daily Renfro.
Mr. Renfro was a retired farmer and had owned and operated Renfro Farm Implements in Holton for several years. He was a 1933 graduate of Holton High School and was a lifelong Christian. Mr. & Mrs. Renfro enjoyed fishing and had spent several winters in St. Cloud, Florida. Mr. Renfro was a member of the Otter Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 17 at 1pm at the Holton United Methodist Church in Holton with Dale Day and Randy Thieman officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm till 8pm Monday, May 16 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Holton United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
