Walter W. Wright, 96, of Rexville passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Waters of Clifty Falls at Madison. He was born in Indianapolis on March 19, 1914 the son of Walter M. and Anna Fuehrer Wright. He was married to Neva Flint on September 10, 1937 and his wife of 72 years survives him. Other survivors include three daughters Phyllis (Earl) May of Rexville, Sharon (Forrest) Sandefur of Greensburg, and Brenda (Danny) Myers of Rexville; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Wayne, his brother Wilbur Wright, and his sisters Dorothy Culp, Helen Washmuth, and Madonna Roberts. Mr. Wright was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church. He was a shovel operator for Kord's Quarry at Versailles and Tri-County Stone at Cross Plains. Mr. Wright also worked in the CCC camp that later became the Versailles State Park in the 1930's. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12 at 11am at the New Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Carter officiating. Burial will be in the West Fork Cemetery near Rexville. Visitation will be Sunday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the New Marion Baptist Church or the West Fork Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
