Willie H. Castle

Willie H. Castle, 78, of Cross Plains passed away Wednesday, February 01, 2012 at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville. He was born at West Liberty in Morgan County, Kentucky on June 16, 1933 the son of John S. and Tybytha Engle Castle. He was married to Rita Williams on May 9, 1953 and she survives. Other survivors include five daughters Sandy (Kevin) Hensley of Versailles, Deborah Brock of Greensburg, Barbara Mason of Corbin, Kentucky, and Angela Abrams and Lori Castle both of Cross Plains; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild; two sisters Beulah McGee of Florida and Mary K. Lumpkins of West Liberty, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Bruce Sutton, Jr., son-in-law William Brock, his brothers Virgil, Denzil, and Robert Castle, and his sister Edith Burchett. Mr. Castle was retired from Thomas & Skinner in 1999 after 28 years with the company where he worked as a floor manager in Indianapolis and Osgood. Willie was also a farmer and attended the Cross Plains Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Logan Fugate officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Cross Plains. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Salem Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
