Wilma M. Myers

Wilma M. Myers, 89, of Rexville passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Ross Manor in Dillsboro. She was born near Butlerville in Jennings County on June 20, 1924 the daughter of Dennis and Verna Stratton Israel. Survivors include five sons Ken (Barbara) Myers of Versailles, Norman (Barbara) Myers of Rexville, Danny (Brenda) Myers of New Marion, Mert (Janet) Myers of Versailles, and Jr. (Linda) Myers of Dillsboro; one daughter Mary (Tom) Allen of Edwardsburg, Michigan; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; one sister Mary May of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Charles Israel and James Israel. Mrs. Myers was a 1941 graduate of New Marion High School. She was a former employee of Arvin Industries in North Vernon and retired in 1989 after 28 years with Reliance Electric in Madison. Wilma was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19th at 11am at the New Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Culp officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Holton Cemetery or the New Marion Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
