Wilma R. Wagner, 87, of Madison
passed away Friday, May 27, 2005 at the Waters of Clifty Falls at Madison. She
was born near Holton, Indiana on October 28, 1917 the daughter of John J. and
Cordia Sporleder Harrell. She was married to Clarence (Dick) Wagner on April 25,
1942 and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1984. She is survived by three
daughters, Valeria Thomas and her husband Jim of Madison, Sandra Ley of
Indianapolis, and Denise Wertenberger and her husband Jeff of Huntington;
grandchildren Stephen Ley, Christine Ley Gibson, Blythe Thomas Couch, Blake
Thomas, Eric and Lindsay Wertenberger; great-grandchildren Christopher and
Joshua Ley; sisters Hilda Aldrich and Leona Bennett both of Indianapolis.
Besides her husband Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents, her
grandson Brandon L. Thomas, brothers Irwin, Wilbur, Wilfred, and Clayton
Harrell, and her sisters Zelma and Mary Harrell, and Mona Whitaker. Mrs. Wagner
was a 1936 graduate of New Marion High School and was a homemaker. She was a
member of the North Madison Christian Church. Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, June 1
at 11am at the North Madison Christian Church
with Bob Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the St. Magdelene Cemetery at
Madison. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31
from 5pm to 8pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the
American Cancer Society or the North Madison Christian Church in care of the
