Wilma F. Snedaker, 92, of Versailles passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 at St. Andrew's Health Campus in Batesville. She was born in the St. Magdalene community near New Marion on June 20, 1920 the daughter of Griffin and Harley Surber Lehman. She was married to Harold Snedaker on April 11, 1944 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1987. Survivors include two daughters Sarita (Walter) Kamman of Holton and Barbara (Kenneth) Myers of Versailles; 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sons Leslie Snedaker who died on June 5, 1970 and Donn Snedaker who died on August 4, 2009, her sister Ethel Lemen, her brother Wilbur Lehman, and her half-brother Leslie Marsh.
Mrs. Snedaker was a 1938 graduate of New Marion High School and was a member of the Shelby Christian Church. In her younger years Wilma worked as a nanny for different families in Chicago, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis and after her marriage was a homemaker and assisted her husband on their farm. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with Bro. Irvin Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Donn Snedaker Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Shelby Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
